U-Haul Moving & Storage of Ypsilanti

What a terrible experience I've had trying to get my U-Boxes delivered out here. U-Boxes were received in the warehouse on Wednesday, and I asked if they could deliver them sooner on Friday. U-Haul said no, and that they would be delivered on Saturday. Well, now the roads are too bad to deliver my stuff, and they don't do delivery on Sundays or Mondays. The U-Haul based out of Wyoming could deliver and pickup any day, had no issues with box placement on the streets, and were much better to work with than the Michigan team has been. I don't know if rules are different out here, but I had everything set up to have my stuff delivered today and now I have to wait an additional 2 days.

I am beyond displeased with the Michigan U-Haul company.

I chose this location as my return destination because they are nearby. However, my experience at this location was bad. When I arrived on Jan 15, I needed the staff to take off my autopilot (not unload my car on it) so that I can take the truck alone to unload my stuff. The staff didn't listen to my request and didn't not went out to see the situation as I advised them to. They immediately told me they need to charge me $25 each time they touch anything with the autopilot. I had to repeat 4 or 5 times that I will drive my car down myself, I only need them to unattached the autopilot, so then they agreed and not to do a charge on it. Then, you know what happen next that I had to pull out the ramps, take off the tire traps myself. They literally gave no effort to help while other Uhaul locations usually go above and beyond.

When I came back after unloading my truck, I returned the key to the office, asked them to check the truck, gas meters etc, they refused to go out and said I was all set. I took a picture of gas level before I left. And as I guessed, not too long after I left, just about 20 minutes I received an email bill for additional charge on gas. It was given to me with a quarter left and I returned the same but they placed in the bill with only 1/8 left and charged me $66. The guy that night even charged me the bill using other staff name who did not work in that location at the time I returned the truck. If you are not handy or looking for help with the truck or towing, I would not recommend you to come to this location and make sure you get evidences so that you wont be charged extra fees

I had a great experience working with Amanda. She explained everything well and answered all my questions. I definitely plan to return in the future.

This uhual store is the worst!! they nickel and dime you on everything & have the nerve to rent you a bad truck that leaks in inside of it!!..if i had done this move while it was pouring rain every box would be soaked..what the managers response we'll make a note of it!!..no discount you owe the whole rate!!..F U uhaul on washtenaw and state st!!..another bad one renting faulty trucks!...so i called again getting a good guy named leroy who straighten everything out and escalated the issues to the bosses..and a discount not everyone at this location is bad to deal with it depends who you get!
