U-Haul of Champaign Customer Reviews

Review:

Have now rented trailers here a couple of times in the last few months. The prices are reasonable, the equipment is in good shape and as described on the website. Staff is friendly and helpful. Returning equipment is fast and easy.

The only complaints I have are related to U-Haul's IT department, not this location. The upselling on the website is incessant. The computer system the office uses seems to be agonizingly slow, so it takes a few minutes longer to check out equipment than it should. But neither of those concerns is enough to keep me from recommending this location and continuing to rent here in the future.

I upgraded from a 10ft truck to a 15ft truck specifically to get the ez load ramp. Our trucks ramp was jammed and unable to be released. We were also given a truck with 1/8 tank of gas and told to return it with min 1/4 tank and they would give a $25 credit. If not; they charge you $5.25/gallon to get it back to 1/4. I returned truck with 1/4 tank like the requested. I specifically asked the clerk to make sure I received the $25 gas credit and he said 'it should be on there'. It was not. Rent a truck here if you want a ramp that is jammed and a nearly empty truck.

U haul needs to have your staff accurately verify the fuel gauge showing the fuel at pickup. This is an issue because UHaul tells you in their paperwork to return the vehicle with the same amount of fuel. Well if the actual shown amount at drive off is inaccurate the customer ends up buying fuel for UHaul-- a ripoff.
