There’s other and better U-Haul services around don’t waste your time here. Got charged 3 separate times with 3 separate amounts. Had a cargo van for 24 hours (6/22-6/23). while gassing the van back up someone in the gas station tapped the mirror. It was leaning slightly. Upon return my boyfriend asked if we were to be charged. The woman stated no since we took the protection package. To my surprise i wake up the next morning to $380 taken out of my account along side the $190 authorization and an additional $178 charge. Called U-Haul and was told that we returned the van completely missing a mirror which is NOT TRUE. After getting off the phone they all of a sudden sent me my invoice. Funny how they can take the money first and didn’t send a receipt until i called. Was told to call again the following day which i did and was told the $190 and $178 should drop from my account in 5-10 business days and be returned. I was also told that with the highest protection plan you pay nothing out of pocket which is a LIE. Was charged an additional $150 for a “deductible” which on U-Haul website doesn’t say anything about. Wish i wasn’t in a pinch to rent a U-Haul to move last weekend it would’ve saved me the headache. The location in Chester Pa is much better if you have to get a U-Haul no hassle and better customer service!

I was nervous about the remote pick up in CT and the remote drop off in PA but it was so easy and convenient.

Don’t waste your time for propane

My husband rented a truck for about 7 hours and returned it after hours. Should have been around $80. Saturday he notices UHaul took $575 out of his account. He goes there and they tell him he kept it for 5 days and did a bunch of damage to it. Thankfully he took a picture (timestamped) of the key being put through the door. They review their cameras, confirm he returned it, and I guess noticed someone else later fish out the keys and take the truck. So after that they tell him they're going to reverse the charge. Today he wakes up to not only the money NOT being reversed but him being charged ANOTHER $575. Call the store because we're at work and can't leave and they say 'Oh it'll all be returned in 3-5 business days' as if it's no big deal that they've taken almost $1200 out of this account. We will never rent from here again
