Having had a bad experience in the past,I was apprehensive about the install on my new car.
What a GREAT JOB by U Haul Farragut. It looks fabulous. Great attention to detail.
Very disappointed in this location. I ordered a moving kit roughly a month ago. Everything I put in the cart was in stock when I ordered it. I picked up my order today and the owner told me that she ran out of large TV boxes. What she meant to say is that she gave the one I ordered that was in stock to someone else. She did offer to call one other location to see if they had one. They did not have one and she just said she was sorry. This really left us in a bind because our movers come tomorrow and there is no time to go tracking down the box we need. This mistake or lapse of judgment on the owners behalf may have just cost me a $1,200 TV. When people order something a month in advance and it says it's in stock, it should be held for that order. I would suggest getting your supplies from somewhere else
Awesome customer experience, thank you!
This is a long story but I am going to try and keep it short. I debated even wasting my time as they did (2 1/2 hrs) but I think others should know. I have dealt with this location for years and I assume they had some management changes. I had wiring for a trailer installed a few years ago and I recently sold the SUV and purchased the same model just a newer one. I took the wiring out of the vehicle I traded and went to the store and asked them what it would cost, and to make sure they could, install the wiring in the new vehicle. They took the Curtis box and wiring back to the installer to make sure, they came back and gave me a price. I had to reschedule the appointment. I showed up for the install and I clarified with them that the email I received had the incorrect price and they verified that it did. They presented me with a statement to sign and the installation charge was more than what I had been quoted twice. I think most people wouldn't be happy with bait and switch practices. They explained that is the price if it takes longer it could cost that much, then they took it back to the installer and he verified it would be the higher fee. I ask them what kind of outfit they were and that this was ridiculous. The person helping me, who was very nice, ask if I would like to see the manager. A young woman came out and she told me that was the price and they didn't like being insulted and bullied. She then told me they wouldn't install it. I ask for her manager's name and phone number. To put an end to this story, he ask me to go to the West Town location and they would install it at a reduced fee. I arrived at the other location and nobody admitted talking to the district manager. They stood around my car like they didn't know what they were doing and they obviously didn't. After further research on my part I realized they didn't properly install it the first time. The moral of the story don't waste your time with either the Farragut or West Town location they will just waste your time and lie to you. I would recommend instead you go to Bob Kidd Hitch & Tire Services in Maryville. They are professional, knowledgeable and more reasonably priced than U-Haul.
As I walked through the doors of the store one of the two attendants behind the counter (the one with his feet up on the desk) started snickering. The other was trying to keep a straight face. I asked if that was how they greet all their potential clients because it was clear the laugh was at my expense. Of course, they claimed innocence but it was obvious. It's unprofessional to judge a potential customers appearance, especially when they're looking at spending hundreds of dollars. I won't be back.
