aside from being kept in excellent condition, the van i rented was nearly brand new.
Horrible experience. I wish I could give this place zero stars. After they closed out my first dispute about this without even contacting me, I had to rely on social media to FINALLY get someone to respond to me.
I picked up a truck from this location with 1/4 - 3/8 filled. I drove 70 miles , filled it back to that level and received a bill for $90 of extra gas and them stating it was at 1/8 filled. Even after I provided receipts of the gas I put in, they refused to refund my money. STAY AWAY AND AVOID. I will NEVER use U-Haul again for ANYTHING. EVER. How can there be less gas in the truck than I started with if I put the proper gas in the truck?? They are untrustworthy liars. DO NOT EVER USE U-HAUL.
Penske, Home Depot are much better options if you need to rent a van or truck.
My in-person experience at this location was atrocious with Ashley H. She remained engaged on her Bluetooth cell phone conversation for the entirety of my visit with no eye contact with the customer (me). She almost refused to offer receipt confirmation of my transaction. After asking for it twice, she finally agreed to get up out of her seat to check-in my rented Uhaul truck. Upon jumping in the vehicle, she haphazardly blurted that something was in the truck (i.e., my fiancé’s singular blanket). I said that I could retrieve it. As I’m latching onto the sides of the truck to enter, she starts the motor of truck (as I’m entering the back), which seems dangerously rocky (from the back of shaky truck).
When she finally checked in my vehicle and offered a printed receipt, I was charged inaccurately.
At several points of conversation, I had to continually ask if she was speaking to me or the cell phone conversation participant. She continued to have casual conversation with a friend (via Bluetooth) for our entire interaction. I am hard of hearing, which makes horrible customer service experiences even worse to manage. I asked to speak with a manager.
The experience continued to deteriorate from there, and I finally had to contact the corporate phone number. Mrs. De La Cruz (from corporate customer service) was warm hearted and wonderful, though.
