U-Haul of New Brighton

My experience was not a great one; I was and still am disappointed at what I went through. I drove for 45 minutes to have my 2019 VW Atlas hitch installed in the 1134 Silver Lake Rd, New Brighton, MN 55112 location. What was supposed to be a two-hour installation turned into a 4.5-hour ordeal. The technician had completed the installation but failed to notify me as promised, leaving me waiting at McDonald's. My attempts to reach them after the three-hour mark were in vain. After 4 hours of waiting, I discovered they had finished the installation a while back, and the main technician had left without updating the incoming tech.
The incoming tech did not even understand how to work the register and I waited 20 minutes for them to get it figured out. This lack of basic knowledge and the subsequent delay in service further added to my frustration and disappointment.
All of this to discover the technician had not completed the work satisfactorily. Just two minutes into my drive, I realized the turning signal was no longer working; it was functioning properly when I dropped it off to have the hitch installed. I immediately called the shop and was assured the manager would call me back within 5 minutes. However, 15 minutes passed with no call. I called again, but no one answered. After several attempts, I finally got through and was told I could bring it in the following day to be checked and possibly fixed by the technician. This shop is 45 minutes from my home, and after my experience there, I chose to have my light fixed at a trusted location closer to home. I meant to understand that the turning signal was not working because the technician did not wire the trailer turning signal onto my car correctly, causing both not to work.
I am deeply disappointed with the service at this location. Given my experience, I strongly advise against anyone going to this facility.

This is our second vehicle we've had a hitch put in at a uhaul. Just like last time, I made a reservation, dropped my car off, got a call because the job was done, inspected it and was out. Simple, easy and nothing complicated about it. The other car that has the hitch is still good (after two years of hauling a camper and a utility trailer) and expecting the truck to be good as well.

There ?!!!! The customer service is bad.They charged me a extra 20 dollars for bringing back the equipment in early.

They did incomplete service putting a hitch on my wife’s car they didn’t even know how to start the car they called multiple times to ask when we went to pick it up the ignition key wouldn’t stay in the slot of my finances new q5 ruined the ignition sensor by shoving the key instead of the fab inside the key holder also have bolts missing and they said they’d resolve it call today she says it’s on us to do it and they aren’t responsible now I had to make a card dispute because they aren’t competent and the manger is the worse she’s the reason it has to go this far when they are at fault this uhaul is a joke and so is everyone who works in it is feel embarrassed to have them as employees one of the workers even talked about how he gets yelled at all the time but you can see why when you go to the business it’s all shady go at your own risk don’t except it done right though and expect a hassle
