U-Pack

Let me start by saying that the customer service was great over the phone. This review is coming from a USMC veteran and I will be as honest and fair as I can be to anyone reading this review.The customer service at the phone were great. However the truck driver was not able to provide specific instructions on how much feet of space my family needed. Could be helpful for the clients if the trucks were labeled depending on the amount of stuff you'll be loading. Also my equipment was changed last minute which required me to use a ramp which was pretty extraneous on my back. The original plan was to obtain a upack pod which just my stuff in it,instead I got a full truck wagon of about 22 feet of space. When the truck arrived some of my stuff was broken. However the seal was not broken which means it could have been poor packing on my end (upack put it in before they leave and have you sing for it). My stuff was really shaken up since the trailer is pretty tall you'll have to stuck up stuff kind of high. Aside from this the leading ramp was damaged and hard to set up since. I had to do that on my own since the driver did not offer any help. They are just there to drop off the trailer and have you sign up for paperwork. In case anyone is interested In using the service they do give out free quotes but basically from a move from NJ to VA it cost me about $1270 with military discount 10% for the truck space including taxes and everything else. The space I used was 10' feet of space for a 2 bedroom apartment. A uhaul truck would of have been around $740 with taxes and military discount however you would've have to paid for tolls,gas and food. Which would've have added to about the same price(just for comparison). The Upack you dont have to drive which is good if you just want to fly to your location or if you want to just drive your car. Just a side not they do not normally pick up and drop off on same day which is a downside to this, also another downside is that they do not deliver neither drop off nor pick up in weekends so just a friendly heads up.

The quality of service is excellent both on the origin and destination. This is key for consistency in customer service. This is the second time using U-Pack and they have been consistently excellent. However, I do think it is time to upgrade the trailers and dollys to air ride suspensions. The spring suspension beats your household goods to death. Each time we ended up with damage to 2 or 3 items from shifting. We packed and protected furniture very well. This time a mattress came out wet from a leaky top on the trailer. Pack and protect your goods very well if your goods are traveling for a long distance.

I have used this service several times. Their customer service is excellent. They are helpful in determining the size cube you'll need. They pickup on time. They store your possessions in a safe place. They deliver on time. Everything in my cube arrives exactly how I packed it...nothing ever shifts or moves! When I need to relocate for my work assignment, it can be very stressful trying to navigate through all the decisions you need to make when they're are just as many unknowns about where you're going. This service has made moving a breeze for me!! I just had my cube dropped off after a 4-month delay in my work project. I could never have taken delivery any sooner so I love that this service is available! I just had my cube delivered last week and it's taken me several days to unload due to my work schedule and organizing my things into a small apartment. With the added flexibility and their patience to empty my cube, they have saved me a million potential problems. I'll continue to use this service again and again--I highly recommend this company!!

It was the first time using this type of service and I was shocked at how simple and smooth it all went. I had gotten other quotes, but I liked the all metal container better and how it opened. I was expecting rings on the inside to attach ropes, but it had rods sections with openings for tie downs and bungee cords. The only thing I wish it would text when in transit and shows the different locations stops. I will admit that I did not check to see if that was an option, but it was on the order itself on line. Overall I would use again and recommend.
