U-Pack

One of the best moving experiences we’ve had (and the USAF has moved us a couple dozen times over 30+ years). From the trailer drop-off in WA to the delivery in eastern TN (earlier than estimated), things went pretty smoothly.

We were nervous about the driver backing the trailer up our long, fairly steep and narrow driveway with a culvert at the entrance, off a two lane busy road. However, the local ABF terminal where our trailer was, sent a driver in his personal vehicle to follow us home (less than a mile away) to see what he thought. After the driver felt confident of delivery, we were relieved and scheduled delivery.

When another driver showed up with the trailer and started backing up, he noted the sagging overhead cable lines that were not the required 14’. So instead of saying “sorry, you’re going to have to offload at our terminal “, he said “let’s see if you’ve got something we could use to lift the cable over top of trailer“. I found a long 2x4 and was able to get the cable tv lines over trailer on both delivery and again at pickup.

I realize moves can often be luck of the draw on what company picks you up, who delivers, who packs and unloads, etc. We opted to box almost everything ourselves, hired 3 professional movers to wrap the furniture and load the trailer, and hired 2 local workers in TN to offload the heavy stuff. I am a new believer in U-Pack if you want to save thousands on a big move.

U pack is absolutely joke. They could not get in to our drive way and asked us to come pick our stuff ourselves and said would refund some back . The guy called and said they would refund $200. Are you joking? I have to hire another company to move everything back to their truck and pay over $ thousands. I need some explanation.

U-Pack was easy, straightforward, and reliable. It was so easy to book online, and it was easy to understand the process from the text and email. I moved with uhaul the previous year and it was terrible, so I was nervous about U-Pack, but everything was exactly as advertised. I had to switch my moving date and they did it with no problems. They send you a text with your 'moving plan' that makes it really clear when your equipment will arrive and who to call if you need to talk to someone, and there's always someone available locally or nationally. The driver who came to pick up my equipment was friendly and it all went well! My stuff arrived at my destination at the early end of the window they gave me, and the delivery process was also smooth. I highly recommend.
