Sal and his partner were great. They did a great job, especially considering they were down two people. Their professionalism and ability was greatly appreciated when they moved expensive laboratory equipment at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
I don’t even know where to begin with this company. It all started well, and Travis was attentive and responsive. Gave me reasons why a non binding estimate would work-factored most things in and said not to worry, they’d charge 110% but after the move they’d only charge the actual weight. What wasnt clarified was that the estimate was waaay above what I had-even the mover was shocked at how high above they made the estimate and said it was a waste of everyone’s time to overestimate bc he could have used a smaller truck etc. He kept asking if this was all I had because the estimate was for more than double the weight of what he saw I had.
Then the day of the move approached and I said hey how do I pay? Travis was not responding to emails or texts so I call the main number. And I was asking about payment. I called and they said don’t worry we will call you. Day of move, load went decently but I had to make sure there was space for the truck to park and to block off the parking myself because no one bothered to tell me how giant the truck was.
Items were loaded and packed reasonably well. Then when it was time to pay, Frieda calls about 20 mins before closing and asks for payment. IThey were late in getting the payment but acted like it was my fault-even though I had called three days earlier asking. She said we need to do this asap so can you text me your credit card and drivers license. I stupidly sent credit card information over text to a number she asked me to send it to but she sent me the wrong number. I basically texted my cc and dl info to a stranger and then All she could say was “I’m sorry.” I wrote to Pitcox, her manager, who had been in touch with me when trying to get me to sign, and not a word from him.
To this day no one has addressed how this lack of professionalism caused gross inconvenience to me and how unprofessional this behavior was. So now some stranger has my credit card information and I have to call my credit card company and cancel it. I told University Moving they should waive a fee for the inconvenience they caused me-not a word.
Day of delivery, the driver shows up with his two small children and no one to unload the truck. He actually has them moving my things and I ask them not to. He sets them up in my apartment to watch cartoons without my permission and I’m just wondering how this is real. As things, arrive, two things are damaged. On top of that the driver bluntly told me he had repacked the wardrobe boxes that I had paid them to professionally pack. And by repack I mean that he consolidated the contents of 2 wardrobes into one, essentially crumpling and dirtying several items of clothing. Why? Because he had to move things from the regular truck to a shuttle. Nowhere does it say that it is okay for the driver to repack and shove clothes into a box-especially one I had professionally paid to have packed. He said he had to do it to make things fit but I paid extra to have them pack my things and they resulted in $100 worth of dry cleaning-which NAVL did reimburse me. Not University Moving but NAVL claims.
After all this, I then notice that 3 items haven’t been delivered. He tells me the next day they were on the truck and did I really need them. What?! I spend a month going back and forth asking for my things to be sent to me. I finally even get the claims person to intervene and she is able to get University Moving to send my things. A month later I get the items and they are smashed to bits.
I am hard pressed to understand the incompetence at University Moving. Frieda is very nice but simple tasks seem to elude her. Far worse is Travis who is a deceptive and too lazy to even do a proper in house estimate, and the drivers NAVL hire are inappropriate, unprofessional and careless. The driver would literally text me about his wife leaving him, and how sad he was. He texted me the day before the load saying he would likely be sad while moving.
I’m happy that after 7 weeks I was refunded the overcharged but the amount of stress and damage they caused is not worth it.

Saul, Edy, Elisio and Juan performed the white glove delivery of our equipment in a timely and efficient fashion. They demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and were courteous and respectful. We would certainly consider using their services in the future and recommend them to others.
