Unfortunately my wife works for a very large employer in the area and this is the company that they contract with as part of their relocation package. I read the reviews before we moved forward, but figured 'how bad could it be'? Definitely a mistake...
We knew that based on the size of the house and the contents that the move could be done reasonably in two days. We repeated this to them on the phone multiple times. However, even though they had never been out to the house in person, they insisted that it needed to be 3 day move. They proceeded to work 3 and a half hours before leaving on day one, MAYBE 4 hours on day 2 and then about 5 on day 3. Incredibly frustrating to watch.
I had worked as a mover for a bit in my younger years, so I understand it's not easy, but the quality was just poor. Smashed bottles of wine, broke the washing machine cord, lost the dryer cord, and those are just the first few things that came to mind.
Also, common sense was extremely difficult to come by. As an example, they were packing the bathroom and we had forgotten to put our toothbrushes in our overnight bags. Rather than calling to us (we're in the house also), they decided to pack them loose in the bathroom trash can along with the bathmat. But don't worry, they also stuffed a bunch of packing paper in there as well so they wouldn't get broken....
Anyway, I'd highly encourage you, especially if you work for this particular area employer, to get a different mover and submit for reimbursement rather than taking the 'easy' road. I can assure you it's not worth it.
I was happy with everything (no knicked walls), but they did a number on my sturdy bedroom furniture. They tore a foot off one of my nightstands to the point where it has to be wood glued on since it was broken at the wood and not just where the bold connect and were apparently never going to mention it until my husband brought it up to which the reply was 'We don't know what happened. You can file a claim.'. The feet were removed from the dresser and a whole bolt is missing, so now I have to come up with a way to replace that bolt to get the foot on and again, no one mentioned a thing. I feel like things would process better with me if it would have been addressed at the time of service, but apparently 'They have no knowledge of ripping a very sturdy wooden foot completely off or losing a bolt to the foot of the dresser and I will have to file a claim.'.
Warner left some of my possessions behind, then blamed me for not supervising. How can anyone overlook a vacuum cleaner and fail to load it?
Framed prints I had wrapped and taped in bubble wrap before boxing ended up with broken glass. A new side table was scratched and a leg was broken. Antique dishes also wrapped in layers of bubble wrap were broken into many pieces. Over a week later, I am still discovering what is damaged or missing.
Altogether, this moving experience was disastrous- but worst of all was Joe’s rude, unapologetic response to my husband’s call with our concerns. RUN, don’t walk away from this business. We could have done a better job ourselves, with U-Haul.
Reasonably priced move from York to Harrisburg. Staff was able to accommodate the move on short notice when another local moving company (Delauters) failed to reserve my move date months in advance.
