At first, they did reply pretty quickly but the second time I tried to contact them, I received no reply. My father, who was one the moving has tried to call them several times but claims that no one answered. I’m not sure if he just called the wrong number or they are simply very busy but I am disappointed at how hard it was to contact anyone

Very good people to work with. I run a small business making outdoor gear and ship an order to a distributor in Japan almost every month. The folks at Yamato Portland helped me figure out the optimal shipment size to reduce the shipping cost per item, which has reduced significantly compared to the cost through 'standard' shippers like USPS, UPS or Fed Ex. My Yamato rep (Yuma Suzuki) is great to work with and the manager (Haruno Abalos) cheerfully steps in when Yuma is out. Highly recommended for shipping to Japan!

Probably the most affordable way to send items to Japan. Very friendly and helpful staff.
