Review:

I had an absolutely devastating experience with “your neighbors”. Please beware of the lack of care they’ll take with your items and also with the lack of respect they offer when something goes wrong.

I hired “your neighbors“ to move and store some items of my grandmothers while I was in transition. They had them in their storage for four months or so. When I was finally landed in my new home and they delivered the items, each one had irreparable damage. It has taken me a long time to write this review because I was so triggered and traumatized at my grandmother’s furniture being destroyed. I’m finally here because I think other people need to know the damage this company is capable of.

The delivery guys told me that my furniture had accidentally been taken out of storage and delivered to another person‘s home, and that’s when the damage had happened.

When I called the office, they denied this, but admitted they had taken my things out of storage and put them on a truck thinking they were going to another person‘s house. they then returned them back to storage and never told me that this happened.

When I asked what they were going to do to help me, they said I could submit an insurance claim. They were insured for $.60 or so per pound.

They originally sent me a DocuSign for the insurance claim with the wrong name. I asked them to resubmit it with my correct name, and also wanted to have a conversation with them about a particular clause that said if I went through with the insurance, I was not allowed to post a review of them on the Internet. Otherwise they could sue me for $1800. After paying them more than $2000 for moving in storage, the insurance was only going to give me around $600 for the extensive damage, and if I wanted to write about my experience online, they reserve the right to sue me for 1800! Crazy. I’m not even sure that’s legal.

Here is the exact language in the agreement you are required to sign if you want to file an insurance claim.

“Client agrees not to attack/criticize Your Neighbors Moving & Storage, LLC and any of its employee, associate or partners publicly (on any public forums, blogs, social networks etc) at any time during or subsequent to contract period. Similarly, client agrees not to seek for seo forums, blogs, community groups or any social media in a way that brings bad name to Your Neighbors Moving & Storage, LLC or any of its employee, associate or partners. In case of breach of this clause, client agrees to pay Your Neighbors Moving & Storage, LLC $1,898.72 as damages and forgoes the right for reimbursement of claim.”

There was another clause in the Docusign that I had to sign the insurance documentation within two weeks of the delivery, which I was not able to do because they sent me the DocuSign in the wrong name.

I submitted the claim mid January. Selina confirmed receipt and told me the insurance company was working on it. On March 21, co-owner Selina finally sent me an email saying my claim was denied because I did not submit it within two weeks. I’ve attached that document as a photo. If she’d known that from the start, why did she string me along until March?

I never charged back any of the money I paid them on my credit card because they promised me insurance coverage and extra support on top of that. They said they would go above and beyond to help me with the extreme damage they caused to my grandmother’s antique furniture.

In the end they did nothing to help. I have audio recording of Jonathan yelling at me and telling me they did nothing wrong and that his employees had lied to me about my furniture ever leaving the storage unit.

With this amount of damage, something obviously happened. The pictures speak for themselves.

If Jonathan or Selina want to make it right with me, I would be happy to receive a phone call or email. They have both on record.

Please, please please beware of this company.
