My Aunt hired the movers to move us 10/31/19. They moved us from one residence to another as well as emptied our storage unit. I have been unpacking slowly but surely. I contacted the company as I had several items missing. I was told 90 days is over to file a claim, I’m not the person who can file a claim as it was my Aunt who made the contract with the company, and some of her guys have been with her for about 10 years and they would never steal, she was not told they would be moving more than 1 person’s property or I would have needed to sign a contract. I told her I felt she at least needed to be made aware that things were definitely missing during this move regardless if anything was done about it or not. She acted as if I was lying and it wasn’t of any concern to her at all. I definitely shouldn’t have left the movers at the storage unit by themselves to run back out to the house for outside yard items that were not in the moving van. Lesson learned.
Summary: Team was punctual, efficient, and communicated strategy very well; however there was some damage to one piece of 3-piece sectional. We needed a three piece reclining sectional moved from a second floor apartment to a single story house, this was not an easy task by any margin. Overall the experience was smooth, the movers came and inspected the pieces to determine how they would begin the process and communicated what the game-plan was very well. The pieces were quite large and it was understandably difficult to get them through the apartment door and down the flight of stairs immediately after it, they loaded all three items and moved to the new location in a little over an hour total. The issues we had were primarily due to me not fully understanding the extra insurance compared to the standard liability; due to how the contract was presented I had just signed where I was instructed and trusted that all the "ducks were in a row", normally this would have been fine, however there was some damage to one piece of the sectional. Serenity Moving had reimbursed a significant portion of the moving cost to offset this, however had I gotten the supplemental insurance it would have left a far less sour taste from the otherwise great experience. I would still recommend Serenity Moving services, however I would strongly advice other clients to consider their supplemental/extra insurance before hand.
I am extremely disappointed in Miller Moving and Storage of Ardmore, Oklahoma. We hired them to move our belongings approximately fifteen miles up the highway. They broke a leg off of a table and dented the top of my brand new dryer. We pointed this out to the movers and they said they would talk to their boss. When we called the next day to speak with the owner, he said he would write us a check, but he didn't want to because his employees informed him that our furniture was already damaged. LIES!!!! It has been seven (7) months and we still have not received a check for reimbursment of our damaged items and the owner is never available to speak to us when we call. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THESE CROOKS!
I'm scoring our experience a 2 because items were not only damaged but broken. When I asked them about it they stated, "Yeah the piece that broke is in one of your boxes". Common courtesy to tell me it was broken instead of me asking. They removed the decorative T-rex drawer pulls from my infant sons dresser. The man commented over and over about how much he liked them and, "I put them all in this drawer." One was missing. I guess it hopped into his pocket. We haven't finished unpacking there's no telling what else is broken or missing completely. Thank heavens we didn't pay them to pack our items.
