I will say the interactions with the ladies that work there are friendly. But, this is probably the only pro.
Recently my dad past in Oct, and I knew he had a storage unit here. I had the key, an old keycard, his death certificate, proof I was his only child, and was paying on the unit. Despite this, because they had switched to a pin code to get through the gate, which I didn't have, they would not let me through. My dads passing was sudden and he never thought to give anybody the pin code.
Despite paying for 4 months, we finally decided to abandon the unit. Then they contacted my grandfather, since his address was what was still on the unit and said he could have had access if he had gone down there. At no time did they mention anybody else might possibly be allowed in. I was even told by several lawyers that they should have all the information required to get access to the unit. The owner feels crooked, just wanting us to pay and then eventually auction the unit off because there is no use in us paying if we aren't getting access.
In response to the 'legal process.' The probate lawyer I talked to said that it is completely up to the storage unit facility to determine if they release the unit to the heir when proper paperwork is shown and no probate is happening. This is due to the uniqueness of storage units. After 4 months of claiming someone else might come by and claim the unit belongs to them as to why they couldn't give me access is a bit silly. I'm sure they'd keep using that excuse even if it had been a year. The paperwork provided was sufficient to protect them in case someone who doesn't exist does magically appear.
Constance was very helpful in scheduling my move-out request.
