When my husband and I moved long-distance two years ago, we used Two Marines, b/c we moved locally (Alexandria to Falls Church) in 2016, and we chose Two Marines and they did a FANTASTIC job, so this seemed like a no-brainer. Please be aware that this is NO LONGER the same company that they once were - things at the top have changed, and they no longer have the same care and concern for the customer that they used to.

The guys that all came to our condo to wrap and pack our furniture were hard-working, fast, strong, and by no means lazy. This review doesn't say anything bad about them - they worked their tails to the bone. My issue is that they had little communication from the office, and when I would ask questions about our things like when they would arrive in Pittsburgh, they didn't know, because it turned out, half of them wouldn't be making that trip!

And finally, when we (and our things) arrived two days later, a new crew (minus two people - from 5 to 3) showed up with our things, everything was at last unloaded and placed into the appropriate places. The team did, however, show up without tools and they needed to borrow our to put stuff together which I thought was unprofessional - glad we had some available. On top of that, I was making note of things that were in less-than-perfect condition, as we'd purchased the top-level insurance. There weren't a *ton* of things, but there were a few items that were of note, including a family piece that I specifically told them to please take the most care of over everything. As we unpacked, I took the maximum amount of time (8 months) to go through everything before making our claim to ensure we had everything included. When I made my claim, the person in the office said they'd be getting back to me shortly, and then I heard nothing. Radio silence for over a month. When I wrote back, the email bounced-back. So I wrote to someone else. That bounced-back, as well. Long story short, they'd filed for bankruptcy.

So I followed the bankruptcy story for a while on their 'blog' for about 6 months and basically learned I'd be getting nothing out of this - the owner went on about embezzlement and said something about a partner cleaning out his accounts and running off with supplies and such, so while I don't know how much of it's true, but he said they were 'restructuring' and 'coming back stronger' which is all corporate BS to someone who's at a loss. All I know is that I had one really GOOD experience, and then I had one TERRIBLE experience where I was left paying for a service (the insurance) that I was unable to do anything about, because I don't have any of those details.

Do yourselves a favor - find another company. This isn't the same Two Marines Moving it was a decade ago. If someone tells you that they used them that long ago, get a newer reference.

The staff was so helpful in making sure I had everything I needed to make my move. There was not a full tank of gas, but it was okay. The transaction went smoothly and quickly.
