Overall this was a terrible reservation. I made a reservation, and Uhaul recommended changing locations. Customer service helped me change my reservation- and they were lovely. The new location was Simon Oil at 11901 S Pulaski Road Chicago, IL. First, this address is no longer a Simon Oil. Second, my reservation was not there. Thankful, customer service was very helpful and friendly and moved my reservation to a different location.
The lovely lady who assisted us at the Cicero location was very friendly, and did her best to get us on her way quickly. However, the computer software was slow. We were already running late because of the reservation problems.
Additionally, when we went to return the truck, the return lanes were full. The app wouldn't allow me to log in to follow the return process. The return process was NOT EASY or intuitive to find. Called Customer service (again- this is the third time I called for this reservation). The initial individual transfered me to a department- AND THEY NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE. She did provide the direct number (which was what's posted outside the return box). My husband tried to call that number and he also didn't get a response. What's the point of having an after hours number if they don't respond. At this point our time had been wasted, and we just left the keys in the drop box.
Overall thoughts, customer service is very helpful. Your technology is inefficient, and there needs after hour contact numbers who answer phone calls. If I could talk with an actual person about this experience, I'd probably seek money back and will likely think twice about renting from Uhaul again.
