After booking a month+ in advance for our move. They call us the day before and say that our truck the was reserved was not available until later in the day and at a completely different location than confirmed with the reservation. Due to this time change and pick up location change, our pack up time was DELAYED BY 4 HOURS. Don’t rely on uhaul if you have a strict time schedule or need a certain truck pick up location. If you aren’t going to have my reserved truck then why even have me reserve it ahead to begin with??
DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! This company was sub contracted to handle our move from PA to GA through New Leaf Moving Group. Had I known we were going to endure such problems we would’ve paid friends/family to assist us. We paid the initial fee of $1,900 to New Leaf and we’re quoted a total price of $5,734 to be divided equally at pick up in PA and delivery to final destination in GA. When the contractors arrived they said we needed to pay the total amount of $5,734 up front due to going over a bit in cubic footage. We paid the driver and asked if we would have a balance when they delivered to us in Georgia. The contracted driver said absolutely not, that covered the move, gas, and storage fee. We received a call from Moving Pro driver stating that they were able to deliver early because our check of $5,734 cleared and there was no sense in holding our belongings longer. I was thrilled because I have Lupus and had been not sleeping well on an air mattress. The driver began to say that at delivery he would need an additional cash payment for 3,700 because the person that came to our house in PA made a mistake on the paperwork and so now in order to deliver they wanted almost $4,000 more. The man on the phone was very rude, and threatened to take our belongings back to PA after they were now in Virginia. I called New Leaf and spoke with their managers - they assured me that this was not our fault, that our documents showed we have a zero balance and that we would have our furniture. Today on Monday September 5th, the sub contractor came to our home in GA and still demanded the cash payment after New Leaf was on speaker phone telling them we paid in full at pick up. He proceeded to say that his guy in PA made a mistake and that he was not making money for the job and so he was not going to open the truck until he received his cash payment. I called the cops in complete distress- here the furniture for our home sat in our driveway and this man was refusing to open the truck. The driver ended up leaving with all our belongings and now sits in a hotel somewhere in GA still emailing asking me to Zelle him funds. If you’re considering this company look elsewhere. I hope and pray nobody ever has to go through this!! Civil lawsuit will happen and reporting our goods stolen, if these guys don’t deliver before the 10 day grace period from time of pick up. They have until September 8th to deliver our furniture. I have never gone through something so unprofessional and completely horrific that literally has my body in a complete flare up.
Moved my entire home on short notice. All my questions were thoroughly answered and movers checked in with me repeatedly during the move to make sure everything was in order. Team leader looked after team and made sure they were moving at a fast enough pace since paid by the hour. If you're a professional in the Danville/Bloomsburg area looking for professional movers would highly recommend.
