All went really smooth thank you!
They were hired to do a 3rd party broker of my international household shipment receipt on the east coast. When the container was offloaded they let it sit 5 days on the docks before checking on it then contacted me the next day for a piece of paperwork for customs which I provided that day. It was cleared for pick up 4 days later on the last free day before I started getting storage billing by the port. The next day they can't get a driver set up and are informed second hand the port will be closed for a week due to a potential hurricane. After that they never bothered to check port status through the port itself for the next week. They contacted me 7 days later with a 2k port storage fee for the 8 days with the claim the port was closed so they couldn't pick up, not their fault I could take it up with the shipping line. I knew the port hadn't been closed the week. The forecast for the hurricane had changed the day after they heard second hand the port was going to be closed. It was open for normal business for 6 out of the following 8 days. Posted clearly on the port web site. After I sent this information back the excuse changed to driver shortage, still not their fault. They demanded I make the 2k wire payment immediately. I took time off the following day to do it and notified them asking for the delivery date which was already almost 3 weeks past the planned date I had. They notify me it will be 9 days at the earliest and on a date I had notified them weeks before I would be on business travel. I ask if I am going to be billed additional storage and I get no response. They are now just refusing to be documented on email. I am seriously looking at filing a stolen property report to get my stuff back. This company just doesn't care because they can extort the money out of you for their lack of urgency in getting things done. Even my primary shipper that contracted then offered a small reimbursement for the storage fees even though it was in no way their fault and that is the difference in th line of company you want to trust with tour stuff and one you don't. If they had status checked the container earlier it would have been out of the port and delivered 10 days ago. Instead I have no idea when I will get it or how much more I'll be expected to pay.
Terrible company...if you are PCSing DO NOT LET THEM UNPACK! These guys have very sticky fingers. So far I am missing my dewalt circular saw, my jig saw, various other tools, and my caster board. My wife was nice enough to give the movers some water in Hyrdoflask cups...guess what they stole those too. I will be doing my own move when it is time to leave here. Navy you need to cancel this contract now!
